About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I left UK in September 2014 for an epic one and half yr trip around Asia. When my money ran out I came for a working holiday visa in New Zealand. Nearly 3yrs later and I am still here! I love it :)

ABOUT ME

I worked really hard at home and saved up for a long trip. I bought a one way ticket to Bang Kok September (2014) !! I had some experience of back packing before, but never had the heart to do it on my own until i was 27. With the new freedom of no ties I thought if I don't do it now, I might not get the opportunity again in the future! And I've never looked back.

I have lived in Wellington since June 2016. I love the Kiwi life style and enjoy the rich life here of stunning nature, relaxed vibes, social music scene, the best coffee and food, awesome attitudes and efforts for sustainability.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people how you would like to be treated! Be kind and compassionate and respect other cultures! Live for today, you don't know what challenges life will throw at you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to surf and in the future I plan to welcome my couch!

COUCHSURFING

I had an incredible time couch surfing in HCMC, Vietnam May 2015! I was so well looked after and saw the city in a new light! I loved meeting the real people and made so many new friends. It encouraged me to use C.S so much more..and since then I have barely stayed in a hostel..couch surfing and home stays all the way!

Interests

I love to travel because it makes my senses feel alive! I enjoy meeting new people and socialising. I also love food- trying new foods and learning to cook it. I want to collect recipes from around the world. I'm creative and appreciate art, textiles and photography and look forward to being inspired on my travels. I am very interested in sustainability. I try to live plastic free as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have seen a Gypsy Punk band called Gogobordello several times in Norwich the city where I am from! I don't watch much telle but I am a nature documentary geek so if David Attenborough is narrating count me in! Books I have enjoyed are Life of Pi, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The White Tiger and The Power of One.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered working in the rice fields of northern Thailand for 2 weeks!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about your local dishes and get a feel for different cultures. In return I can teach you how to cook Western dishes, bake scones and cakes, make liqueurs and preserves. If you are interested in crafts I can teach you how to crochet or some basic textiles like making a tote bag. Or if you want to learn yoga or Pilates I can help.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good cook and love to share! If you like I can help you practise your English or if you need practical help such as cleaning or taking care of your animals I can do that no prob.
