Hy there! I am Charlotte from germany. Currently I live in Magdeburg and study Watermanagement at the HS Magdeburg-Stendal. I was born in Germany in a small village. When I attended school I went to live for one year in the Dominican Republic as an exchange student. There I learned to speak spanisch and still maintain contact with my old friends and hostfamily. After finishing highschool in germany I moved to Dresden and started to study Watermanagement. The newest of my projects will be to live in San Diego, California for an internship and to write my bachelor tesis about evaluation, and restoration of streams, wetlands, and riparian areas in the San
Diego Region.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I often planned to couchsurf before to travel threw Europe, but in the end I stayed at Hostels, Campgrounds or at some friends house and never really fullfilled the plan. Because I am moving to San Diego, California this september i will give it an other try and want to start to participate active in the couchsurfer community. Because I am still a poor student I woud like to get orientation in the city before moving there- also to prevent renting some bad and unreliable place before my visit over the internet. I think for that reason couchsurfing would be just perfect. I hope to meet locals and to get some tips about living and moving in the city and in the States in general. In exchange I hope that they can enjoy my visit as well and hopefully visit someday my place in Germany or where ever it will take me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musik: my favorite music is more like a great mix of Latin music like Merengue, Bachata, Salsa but also english or german Rock Music or great artists like Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple but in gerneral I love all kind of danceable music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

climbed el Teide (3718 müNN), hitchhiked 3 weeks threw Cuba, worked as a Grid-Girl for MotoGP, lived in the Carribean, started an Urban Farming project with friends ...well just some funny things crossing my mind right now

Teach, Learn, Share

I am sure that besides the intercultural exchange and maybe teaching eachother new language skills, I can share with my hosts also lots of experiences, great travel stories, chats about local water treatment situations or how to grow your own tomatoes on little space and be to them useful as they are great help to me. I also would really appreciate meeting people with whom I can practice my favorit sports like climb, hike, run or surf!
