I am co-director of a small business called Juma Drums (www.jumadrums.com). Me and my partner are based in Cape Town and give drumming workshops for team building and fun sessions. We also give African dance, kalimba and mbira (African lamellophone) lessons. We make and sell kalimba/nyunga-nyunga and mbira instruments and our shop has a variety of handmade djembe drums.
Besides facilitating workshops with Juma Drums I work as a piano teacher (www.happypianofingers.com) and I perform and record music on the piano, guitar and vocals.
I love traveling!
If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything I feel inspired by. Art that is made with a genuine heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some great traveling experiences...
3 day trip to the highest point of Lesotho on horse back in 2010. About 8 hours on a horse every day, sleeping in a mud hut on the ground and living on peanutbutter sandwiches roasted above a fire of cowdump :) I've not eaten much peanut butter anymore since..
Working at the horse farm in Wild coast, Eastern Cape. Beach rides and the most amazing nature around every single day!
Trip in south Morocco through the mountains to the edge of the Sahara. Very hot!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my love of music :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
You are welcome to join us at Juma Drums for open drumming class on Saturdays 3pm, an African music lesson, instruments or just a chat :) Our shop and workshop venue are situated at the historical Oude Molen Eco Village in Cape Town. Take some time to walk around the village and visit the restaurant-cafe, backpackers, communal vegetable gardens, horse riding school and several art and crafts workshops.
