HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted many times at home in Vancouver, at home in Malawi, and surfed in South Africa and across Europe on a 2 month cycling trip.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One of my favorite surfing experience thus far has been with a now friend Doug in Cape Town. What a trip! And what a guy. Arriving straight off the plane from Malawi, we were treated to the best and most relaxed CS we could hope for. For three days we cuddled in his wee spare bed under the shadow of Table Mountain, and each day we used his spare maps and tips to navigate the alleyways and twisting roads of the glorious Cape. Shared dinners, stories, and drinks later, we're international friends and hope to host him one day in Canada.

I love the local connection. The folks that can fill us in on the complexity of life wherever we happen to be. Is the best when they connect us to the less then obvious cafe down the back street, or the little know facts about what used to be....I'm a fan of sharing meals, and enjoy cooking. I like to share and learn in any of life's opportunities.

I live in a upper level heritage conversion house just west of downtown. We have a big yard for a tent, and maybe a pull out couch depending on the weather.
