Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I'm on Couchsurfing because if I'm in a foreign country, it's one of my first and foremost interests to not just go there as a tourist, touching only the superfice of the country, but to immerse myself in the culture - and what better way to do that is there than staying with a local?

Reading has always been my greatest pleasure in life - some of my all-time favourite authors include George Orwell, Anna Akhmatova, Min Jin Lee, Alexandra Kollontai, Edgar Allan Poe, Andrew Solomon, Anne Applebaum, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Haruki Murakami.

- one year as a Rotary Exchange Student in Misiones, Argentina - backpacking through Asia after high school - going on a one-week bike ride down Taiwan's east coast, sleeping on the ground and in a 7-Eleven and getting stranded in Taitung because of a typhoon - couchsurfing through the wonderful countries of Iran and Kazakhstan
