MY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back in 2012, I backpacked around Europe and stayed only with CouchSurfers. It was a fantastic experience. I was hooked. Since then I have been mostly hosting, cause I like to feel the travel feeling that you bring with your backpack :)

WHO IS MARTIN?

A ball of energy, extroverted, trying to live life to the fullest. My personality is well described by ESFP - I am curious which one you will be? - https://www.16personalities.com/esfp-personality

At home I am mostly quiet- curiously reading, meditating, working on my projects.
But when I am out - I am a total extrovert - I truly love people - the interaction, the difference, the stories!
When I am out I can approach anybody and make friends with them very quickly.

I was born and grew up in a small Bulgaria town, lived in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria and moved to The Netherlands for my studies. Doesn't matter where, I have been always curious, active and social.

I breakdanced for 10 years, then switched to kickboxing. Everything that give me a rush, is a bit risky and it is challenging its great. I like that feeling of uncertainty when never know what is going to happen, but you still do your best in the moment.

MY PHILOSOPHY

1. LIVE IN THE MOMENT
2. PERSONAL GROWTH
3. BRING YOUR GIFT INTO THE WORLD

Get into an upward spiral of life, by getting a little more focused, more critical thinker, more positive. Surround yourself with good friends. Read great books.

Realize, from the small victories you have, what can happen in the long run if you are patient and consistent and always course-correcting. And getting out of your comfort zone in order to grow. In the same time, not taking life too seriously, realize we are all going to die one die and accept it.

Thus I am striving for the balance between ambition and letting go, between hard work and enjoying life, between being intense and chilled which is actually a life-long process.

But that helps me not to get angry at small steps, cause I keep focused on the journey, on the big picture. And meditation helps too.
