ABOUT ME

I'm spending a year in Chicago to live up the urban life for a while, before returning to my beloved west!

I write poetry and perform spoken word as often as I can, and absolutely love riding my bike all over this city. I'm a vegetarian, and try to keep my groceries as vegan as possible. My favorite thing about living in this city is exploring the depths and diversities of it, and feeling engulfed by thousands of experiences and adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

I am trying to experience this world in a pure way. I am a consumer of my surroundings and I'm constantly learning to appreciate the gifts these days bring us.

I'm not trying to figure this place out, I'm just trying to learn from it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to canvass for Greenpeace. While on the street one day I met a couple of bearded guys who needed a place to stay. They told me they were paid to meditate full time by a millionaire. After a long, interesting, sincere conversation with the two, I handed over the keys to my apartment with directions, and my couch surfing career had begun.

My roommate at the time had an account on CS, and we ended up hosting people quite regularly. I love having people in my home, so after she moved out I decided to start an account here.

People with awful teeth who smile real big anyway, aggressive street-crossers, writing, climbing, biking, specialty espresso, exploring unappreciated areas, being mistaken for a local when I'm really not, waitresses in roadside diners who call you "honey" and "sweety," spoken word, music, Buddhism, poetry, etc, etc...
