I am a compulsive traveler, adventure, and explorer. After six years living in Alaska and spending a couple months traveling overland from England to Mongolia, we spent a year living in Bangkok before moving back to the US so my girlfriend could get her PhD and I could get my Masters at LSU.

I love traveling, taking roadtrips, exploring and having adventures; whether that's exploring the far side of the world or exploring my neighborhood, the excitement's all the same!

I'm pretty laid-back and am easy to get along with. If you've got a sense of humor and love having fun, I can already tell that we're going to be friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend and I are both seasoned travelers who love meeting new people.

I've worked in the travel and hospitality industries since 2006, and though it sounds corny I truly enjoy helping make sure other people enjoy their trips. I love helping out travelers, whether it's with information or a place to stay.

Interests

I am addicted to the outdoors, and would always rather be hiking, camping, backpacking, snowboarding, kayaking, or otherwise enjoying the outdoors with friends. My girlfriend has gotten me into running over the past year, and we run lots of half marathons.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't normally watch movies or TV.

I am a voracious reader, and will devour any book that I get my hands on. Favorite genres would have to be interesting non-fiction and mysteries, but any book will do!

Additionally, if you want to trade books or to get rid of books while you're traveling, I am always happy to get something new to read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's like cheating having lived in Alaska for six years, but there is still no experience in the world like being outdoors on a frigid winter night surrounded by friends and watching the Aurora Borealis dance overhead.

I am happy to teach you all I know about Bangkok and about traveling in Southeast Asia as a whole. I have been lucky enough to travel through six of the countries in the region, and as a contributor to Southeast Asia Backpacker magazine have worked up a bit of knowledge on the region!
