ABOUT ME

Hello!

I'm Chaz.

I often find myself in unplanned situations while travelling - they always turn out to be the best travel memories!
I am very easy going.. Don't like to take life too seriously - if anything goes 'wrong' I just add that to the long list of 'stories for the grandkids' ...
I have done quite a bit of travelling by myself but enjoy making friends along the way!
I absolutely love an adventure and wildlife. I have done some volunteering in Asia with wildlife, travelled through South Africa and Namibia seeing all sorts in the wild and I am now getting set to explore the States and Canada for a few months- with the goal of finding employment in the wildlife area!
Before packing my backpack again, I was working as a Nature Guide on the West Coast of NZ - getting paid to take people bush walking, kayaking and to see wildlife in their natural habitats was definitely a job I enjoyed every day of!

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my 'life motto' if I had to choose one would be,

"It is all stories for the grandkids"

Sometimes you are in a situation like missing a flight or staying at the grottiest hostel and the first thing you want to do is just be grumpy...
But, looking back, it is what makes the adventure memorable... That saying has put things into perspective for me a lot at times!

Music, Movies, and Books

Put any movie on and I will watch it.

Same with music.. Although I am definitely into more 'old school' ... and am pretty terrible with knowing who sings what... I just know songs and whether I like them or not...

At the moment I am getting through the 'Tomorrow When The War Began' series... I have found some of the better books I have read are random ones that I have taken off the shelves from hostels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch hiking the length of NZ in 2.5 days dressed as a pirate not spending a cent and finishing it off with a bungy jump as part of an 'Amazing Race' is pretty up there in amazing things I have done...
