About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Not to get bored, trying to live my dreams and not the contrary.

ABOUT ME

Hi there!

I'm Grégoire, but everyone calls me Greg. I was born and raised in Paris.
After studies in international business and project management abroad, I moved back to Paris and got settled there. Hopefully not for too long... Actually, I live in a city named Chatenay Malabry, 15 minutes away from Paris centre. I work as marketing project manager for a well known company in the weight loss industry.
I speak fluently both Spanish and English, and I know few words of Russian (but can't really have a conversation in this language).

Friends are what count the most to me.
If one of them calls me and ask if I fancy a beer in a pub, I say yes.
If one of them calls me and ask if I fancy an art exhibition in a museum, I say yes.
If one of them calls me and ask if I want to climb a mountain somewhere in the world with him, I say yes. Too bad it occurs so rarely...
If one of them needs help, here I am.
I like to give, whatever if nothing comes in return.

All in all, I'm just an easy going parisian dude seeking to get to know new people from abroad, learn from them about their culture, and make new friends accross the world. On top of that, I just want to have fun with people I meet!

That's what it is all about! That's who I am.
Oh, and I forgot, I share a nice flat with my best mate.
We've known each other for 25 years.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is not to have one. Or maybe I have one, but I don't know it yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I have a confortable double couch ready to be surfed and I cook better than Gordon Ramsay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None for the moment. Hopefully this should change soon...
I am a couchsurfer, body and soul (or at least trying to be)!
Please be my guest!! You will be treated like King and Queen!

Interests

What interests me the most is to discover new cultures, learn from others about their way of life, getting to see abroad stuffs that will blow my mind and that I will remember forever.
I'm a huge fan of bodysurfing and I love to discover new surf spots accross the world (Spain, Australia, Mexico...)! I could spend a whole day in the water waiting for the waves to come. Unfortunately, I live far from the ocean. But it doesn't matter, because Paris has its interests too!! It is a wonderful city loaded with history and culture. I know it like the back of my hand. Well almost, because it's impossible to know it entirely.
I also love to run and to play tennis.

Ever heard about Paris catacombs? If you want to discover what's beneath Paris, follow the guide! I've been visiting them for more than 6 years with my mates and can't get enough of it.

I'm in love with spanish language and Latin America. If I had time and money, I would love to spend a year travelling over there. But I also enjoy speaking in English!

I like music and cinema. I play the drum on the occasion with a band, mostly funk music, but nothing serious really. My best mate and flat mate is the guitarist.

I'm always ready to party and I love to cook.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well I enjoy reading travel books!
Haruki Murakami is one of my favourite writer.
I like electronic music, funk, soul, trip hop, rock, jazz.
I won't give band names, ithat would be too long, but I'll be happy to share.
I also love Pollock paintings, don't know really why... I guess that' why I love them!
A movie that I really like is Diario de motocycleta. I wish I could once see all of the landscapes that appear in this movie, in a single travel, just as the Che did. MotherF*$£@!!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My last amazing experience has been to walk across Peru's mountains on the Inca Trail until Machu Pichu. It's been a great sport challenge and I will always remember the discovery of the ruins uncovering themselves from the morning fog in the dawn light. After suffering 4 days long, climbing and walking hours, it's been the best reward ever! Since that day, I wish I could do that again in other countries. I dream about Aconcagua mountain, Kilimanjaro volcano. One day maybe...

The discovery of twelve Apostoles in Australia, is something I will remember always too. That might sound rediculous because they're just rocks in the australian ocean, but I was waiting to see them for so many month that it made me feel so alive.

There are other amazing things that I've done but they're not really sharable...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of French cooking, but also how to read a parisian subway map! I can also teach you how to swim if you don't konw yet, not that it is mandatory in Paris.
I want to learn eveything you have to teach and share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bolivia, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
