About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See things, do things, meet people, and have adventures. It'll give me something to tell the grand kids.
ABOUT ME
I am generally a thoughtful and more conscientious person. I have a few introverted tendencies, but I try my best to be friendly an engaging when I meet new people. I am very respectful of all people, and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. I would prefer a cup of coffee or a beer with a few people than going out to a club and getting sweaty with strangers.
When in a new city, I enjoy walking around and seeing the sights more than anything. I hate feeling like a tourist, but sometimes you can't help but take a picture trying to hold up the leaning tower of Pisa. Or something. :]
I am fun, I can be funny (only in English though) and I like laughing. I take joy in small things and appreciate this big beautiful world of ours by going on adventures.
PHILOSOPHY
You will never regret doing a nice thing for someone else.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Traveling in Europe at the moment, so hoping to stay on a few couches for the time being. Then once back in the US, I hope to be able to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Ive couch surfed independently of this website a bit. I traveled with a folk rock band from Portland, Oregon on a cross country tour and we stayed with a number of incredible hosts.
Some of my favorites included the husband and wife musical group in Denver who let us crash on their floor and then insisted on making all 6 of us breakfast in the morning. I also slept on the porch of this incredible 3 story hundred year old house in Albany, NY inhabited by a dozen or so artists and musicians. Between creek walking and BBQs in Douglas, Nebraska, eating bagels at 3am with our hosts in Chicago, and touring scultpure gardens and picnics in Minneapolis, couch surfing has definitely made for some of my best travel experiences.
Interests
Little things intrigue me. Secret graffiti on the corner of a wall. What kind of man made objects are on the bottom of a stream. Forgotten objects left in the snow. The gait of an elderly person. Whisperings of couples walking hand in hand down the street. The expression on a baby's face as it gets pushed in its stroller. These are the things in life that so often go unseen. I do my best to notice them all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was made balloon hats for 80 or so children while in the jungles of Cambodia. None of them had seen balloons before and didn't know what to think about the hats. Finally after some coaxing they started to wear them, but when one kid accidentally popped theirs, many other hats were subsequently abandoned.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know enough magic tricks to keep a child entertained for 10 minutes. I can frost a cake. I can cook the best vegetarian breakfast burrito north of the border. If youre interested, I usually try to travel with balloons to make balloon hats. Or balloon dogs. Even a balloon giraffe, if youre feeling fancy.
