Hello! Im Chelsea. I was born on Canada's east coast, and moved to Ontario when I was only 5.

I graduated with a bachelor of journalism over a year ago, and I have spent the past year working as a political reporter (in print), in Canada's capital city of Ottawa. During that time, I decided I wasn't quite done with school, and I'm heading back to Carleton University in Ottawa to start my MA.

Right now, I'm in between things. I've quit my job, moved out of my apartment, and my best friend Sam and I have decided to plan a Jack Kerouac-esque trip up the West Coast of the U.S. We're beginning our journey in San Diego, and heading north all the way to Vancouver. Sometime near the end of July, we'll be heading home to Ottawa, where we'd like to return the favour and host you sometime soon! Cheers!

I've done a few different trips over the years where I've stayed with host families. I've found the best way to travel is to learn from a local. I really enjoy meeting new people and avoiding the typical tourist routes. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to do both!
