Overview
About Me
Hey! I am a 27 year old Community Residential Worker with the Ministry of Social Services (that means I work with people who have physical and intellectual disabilities).
I currently live with my boyfriend, Jon, our two year old son, Hendrix, and my boyfriend's brother, Jordan.
I grew up in a small town in Southeast Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon when I was 18 to attend University. I enjoy hanging out with friends, drinking beer, playing dodgeball, jogging, hiking, trying new food, and meeting new people.
In my 27 years I have done extensive travelling and have been to 30 different countries including most of Western Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, Peru, and much of the Caribbean.
When I was 15 I went to Dresden, Germany for one year with EF as an exchange student. At 21 I spent 6 weeks in Ukraine with the University of Saskatchewan. I have also hiked Machu Picchu in Peru and did a half marathon in Iceland with Team Diabetes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First and foremost I am couchsurfing because I truly believe that the best way to experience a country is to stay with a local. I have done six homestays in my life (Germany, Ukraine, Indonesia, New Brunswick, Manitoulin Island, Australia). Aside form the obvious that couchsurfing is significantly cheaper than staying in a hostel, I believe this is the best way to meet new people and experience more of what the country/community has to offer.
Originally I did not plan to couchsurf my way through the UK (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland). I am attending a wedding in Taunton England on April 9th and had hoped my boyfriend or a friend would be able to join me but unfortunately, plans changed. I am now travelling alone and decided that this would be the best and most affordable way for me to do so.
