About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world and make friends along the way!

ABOUT ME

At first, people usually get the impression that I'm quiet, shy, and reserved-which is true when I meet someone new. Once I feel comfortable, though, I let down my guards and jabber on like anyone else-with the occasional bit of sass. I value my best friends, and am particularly loyal to those I care most about. I generally like to plan things, but, at the same time, I love surprises and a chance to be spontaneous. Traveling and learning languages are two of my passions-so far I've learned Hindi, Urdu, and basic Spanish. I want to travel to as many places as I can because exploring other places is one thing that makes my life feel fulfilled!

PHILOSOPHY

Figure out what will make you feel fulfilled in life, and pursue that-otherwise, you'll always be left wanting more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Foreign films, especially Bollywood. I'm a sucker for more independent films, and the occasional romcom :)

As for books, I love Ayn Rand, Jhumpa Lahiri, and J.R.R. Tolkien. Some of my favorite books are The Life of Pi, Kiterunner, The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, Gone With the Wind, Anna Karenina, Pride and Prejudice, and The Once and Future King.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) While studying in India, I visited a small village in the mountains. I spent some time with a family who lived in a shack. Although they were perhaps the poorest people I'd ever met, they were happier than almost anyone else I'd come across, and extremely generous to top it off. Even though they had next to nothing materials-wise, they wanted to give their guests everything they could, just to make sure their guests had a good time.

2) While near the same village mentioned above, I got my first view of the Himalayas-rows of snow-covered mountain ranges. It was the most awe-inspiring scene I had ever experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Hindi and Urdu, and would love to teach either language to someone!
