ABOUT ME

what makes me happiest: being outside. Whether that is running, biking, skiing, hiking, or just having a picnic, working in the garden, picking berries, walking, or reading a good book in the grass...

I travel for my own pleasure and also for my job as a journalist, covering cross country ski and biathlon. Through that I have met some amazing people and experienced great hospitality - which in some cases I have been able to reciprocate.

The other half of my professional life is a masters in biology that will have me bouncing around Europe. I hope not to get bogged down in school; you can't spend every weekend studying! Nor should you!

I love my friends, meeting new people, and grabbing a beer at the pub... and I really love cooking a good dinner and then sitting down to eat it and having a good talk for hours. But I'm also very independent. Having time to think and be with yourself is important too! I try to strike a balance in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined couchsurfing, although at a house I lived at in the past one of our housemates hosted couchsurfers. That's how I got familiar with the idea. Because of my current dormitory situation it would be difficult for me to host, but that is an option for the future. At the moment I would just like to surf, and hopefully offer you company and stories to make it worthwhile!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending a semester living in the medina of Fes, Morocco.

Skiing the men's 50 k course an hour before the start of the race at 2012 nordic skiing world championships, Oslo, Norway, and feeding off the energy of the crowd.
