Until recently, I've been attempting to gain an education/experience in sustainable agriculture and alternative farming, through the WWOOF-USA program. WWOOF stands for Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms, it's a volunteer work exchange program where you receive room, board, education, and experience in exchange for labor (no money is exchanged). This was working out great for me and I met a lot of wonderful people and had a lot of cool experiences, but my plans have changed a little now. I've been having a hard time finding my next farm and several have cancelled on me in a row, not letting me know until the last minute and leaving me scrambling to find a place to stay. Unfortunately I had not planned for any of this and have used up most of my savings. I will be living and working in Yellowstone National Park this April, but in the meantime I am just trying to survive the next two months.

In November I'm planning to return to San Diego to pursue a culinary career, and go back to school to eventually become some type of scientist.

To find places to stay during this strange in between period of my life, to make new friends, to be vulnerable and rely upon the kindness of strangers, that sort of thing. Hopefully will someday be in a position to host and help out fellow travelers and others in need of shelter.

I really like libraries. I was always the kid with the maxed out card. The last book I finished was 'I Contain Multitudes' by Ed Yong. My favorite fiction book is still Watership Down.

The Big Lebowski, The Professional, Blade Runner, Alien, Willow, and a lot more. My favorite genres are probably sci fi and dark comedies, my least favorite genres probably horror and romantic comedy.

Volunteered for 8 months on an off grid organic farm where every meal had to be cooked over an open fire you built yourself, water had to be hauled from a well, laundry in a bucket, showers outdoors, and the closest wifi was a three mile walk down a dirt road. It was awesome. There was also a cult next door, we would go to their house for dinner on Fridays.

I think this varies by host but in general I am happy to pitch in with chores, cook a meal, walk your dog, etc. Down to go on adventures or just hang out and play videogames/listen to music/etc. I am open to hanging out and making friends, but also ok with not doing that. I am fine with being independent and have no expectations of hosts apart from a safe environment (not looking for a tour guide or anything like that).

I don't smoke cigarettes and I clean up after myself. I do smoke weed, but am totally fine with refraining to do so while at your place, for any reason.

I actually love animals and would be pretty down to walk your dog or hang out with your cat.
