I am a third-year student at Harvard University and a Media & Entertainment Contributor for Forbes, writing about how technology is changing the way we consume music. Music is my greatest passion and has brought me to several places around the world, from my parents' hometown in Shanghai, China to small, rural towns in Italy.

I am nowhere sort of obsessed with foreign languages and cultures—I know English, French, Chinese and German (in descending order of fluency), and would love to get more languages under my belt!

MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC. I love everything about music:
1. listening to it (I am an avid Spotify, Slacker Radio and Pandora user);
2. writing about it (as mentioned above, I write about music for Forbes);
3. researching it (I conducted research on the music industry at Harvard Business School last summer, and also was a research assistant for a visiting composer at Harvard last year);
4. studying it (I am getting a minor in Music at Harvard);
5. performing it (I studied classical piano at the Juilliard School Pre-College Division throughout high school, and have performed all over the world and continue to perform on campus)

On a more general level, I am really interested in exploring cool developments at the intersection of technology and entertainment, from music to movies to books.

Other assorted interests include physical fitness (I recently ran my first half-marathon!), European languages and cultures (as previously mentioned—I studied abroad in France two summers ago and definitely want to go back), mathematics, journalism, food history, and social network theory.

My music tastes are extremely diverse, from classical (Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Steve Reich) to rap (Kendrick Lamar, clipping, Kanye West) to electronic (Tycho, Flying Lotus, Disclosure, FKJ, Odesza) to jazz (Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Vince Guaraldi, Hiromi, Jacob Collier) to rock (The Strokes, The Beatles, Arcade Fire, Tame Impala) to R&B (Lianne La Havas, Frank Ocean, Emily King).

I love two really contrasting types of movies: those that ponder what machines will do to humans, and those that are animated. Her and Ex Machina come to mind for the former category; Up, Inside Out, and all Miyazaki films are my favorites in the latter.

As for books... anything by Haruki Murakami, Kazuo Ishiguro, Joyce Carol Oates. I tend to read nonfiction now, though, and all of my favorite nonfiction books have to do with music (Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, Reinventing Bach, But Beautiful).
