I love the outdoors, winter, thrift stores & garage sales, hugs, animals, growing my own food, old-school manners, consideration for others, putting myself out of my comfort zone, motorbikes, hockey, simplicity. I share myself, but I value listening. I am addicted to volunteering. I love to teach and love to learn. I love both being with people and being away from people, if you know what I mean.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have made some wonderful friends from both hosting and surfing. My kids had some amazing experiences growing up with international houseguests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Lots of "couch surfing" around the world in my past. I love the impromptu "meet on the bus ride and strike up a conversation" way of connecting with new friends and staying at their place. On CouchSurfing.com, have hosted many times and surfed both in Canada and outside of Canada.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - indie music, especially that which transcends genre and mixes it all up. Books - nonfiction - there are so many amazing stories in the real world! Movies - independent or foreign with subtitles. TV - never.

From one extreme...
reaching inside of a ewe giving birth to grab the tangled legs of the lamb and assist in delivery

staring down from the top of a mountain in awe at the powerful forces waaaaaay bigger than humans could be that have carved and designed the landscape
