Hola! Me llamo Oleg y me mudé a Ecuador desde Rusia en noviembre de 2022. Vivo aquí y amo este país. Trabajo de forma remota (marketing digital), y aunque no siempre tengo la oportunidad de viajar tanto como me gustaría, siempre estoy feliz de recibir nuevos huéspedes cuando surge la ocasión.
Me encanta viajar, surfear y salir de fiesta, pero también valoro mucho los ambientes tranquilos. Además, toco la guitarra y escribo música.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me encanta la idea de esta comunidad. Gracias a Couchsurfing he vivido muchas experiencias y emociones únicas con personas increíbles que he conocido aquí, y con algunas de ellas sigo en contacto incluso fuera de la plataforma. Eso es lo más valioso. Cada historia que nace de estos encuentros es algo nuevo e inesperado. Es un tipo de conexión y experiencia que simplemente no puedes obtener viajando solo por países o conociendo viajeros al azar.

I really love the idea behind this community. Thanks to Couchsurfing, I’ve had so many unique experiences and emotional moments with amazing people I’ve met here - and with some, I’ve stayed in touch even beyond the platform. That’s what makes it truly valuable. Each story that comes out of these connections is something new and incredible. It’s the kind of experience you just don’t get from traveling alone or meeting random travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Me gusta la música electrónica en todos sus formatos - desde lo más experimental hasta lo más bailable. También disfruto ver películas interesantes, como las del cine francés, y últimamente he estado viendo algunas películas latinoamericanas que también me han gustado mucho.
Toco la guitarra desde hace años. No soy profesional, pero siempre ha sido una parte importante de mi vida.
Me encanta Hemingway. En general, siempre estoy abierto a nuevas experiencias.
No soy fan del reguetón… pero si a ti te gusta, no hay problema :)

I enjoy all kinds of electronic music - from experimental sounds to more danceable stuff. I also love watching interesting movies, especially French cinema, and lately I’ve been getting into some Latin American films, which I’ve really enjoyed.
I’ve been playing guitar for years. I’m not a pro, but it’s always been something I love doing.
I’m a big fan of Hemingway. I’m always open to discovering something new.
I’m not into reggaeton… but if you are, no worries :)

Me mudé de Rusia a Ecuador a los 22 años.

Llevo ya bastante tiempo viviendo en Cuenca y estoy bastante conectado con la cultura y el entorno social de la ciudad. Puedo contar muchas cosas sobre Ecuador, sobre el idioma español, o sobre cualquier tema que te interese. Además, mi novia es ecuatoriana y vivimos juntos, así que siempre hay algo que podemos compartir desde una perspectiva local.
Lamentablemente, trabajo bastante y no siempre tengo tiempo para acompañar a los huéspedes y enseñarles la ciudad. Pero si tengo un día libre o el momento lo permite, con gusto lo haré!
En cualquier caso, siempre estaré encantado de recomendar lugares para visitar, comer o simplemente pasar un buen rato. Y por supuesto, estaré disponible si necesitas ayuda o tienes alguna pregunta durante tu estancia.

I’ve been living in Cuenca for quite a while now and feel kinda connected to the culture and social life of the city. I can share a lot about Ecuador, the Spanish language, or really anything you’re curious about. My girlfriend is Ecuadorian and we live together, so we can always offer a local perspective too.
Unfortunately, I work a lot and don’t always have time to show guests around. But if it’s a day off or I have time, I’m more than happy to do so!
Either way, I’ll gladly recommend places to visit, eat, or explore - and I’ll always be around to help or answer any questions if you need anything during your stay.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Puedo ser una buena compañía para ti, ayudarte con la casa o comprar comestibles. Si quieres, puedo hacer pasta con vino y también lavar platos y sartenes :)
