About Me

I have the travel bug and want to get on the road every chance I get. i'm planning on going overseas for the first time to Thailand, but I have lived in mexico for 3 months, and florida for 3 years, I grew up in canada mostly between Alberta and British columbia, it's my dream to see Asia, starting with japan and working my way West.

Occasionally I can host people at my home on Vancouver island.
I have 3 couches (2 are comfortable) a nice rug (with some bed mats we can lay out) and a spare room with a mattress)
or we can kick my sister out of her room which is separate from the house, and we can put up to 6 people in there. 1 on the couch, 1 on the bed and 4 on futons or bed mats on the floor)
-There are a LOT, tonnes of people in and out of our house ALL DAY. So you are free to come and go when you need, (just fold up your blankets before you go; less chores for me ;p )
- We live on a farm as well so roosters like to wake visitors at 5 AM,
- The house goes to sleep anywhere between 9-12 at night. if you come in late its no problem.
- We do however have a large HARMLESS dog who will bark because she is a dog.
- And we have an annoying cat who likes to cuddle Male visitors, but she scratches at doors and wants attention at annoying times of the night (I can cadge her though if you don't wanna put up with her antics)

Basically if you want to come with a group and make a party out of it, and get not as much rest as you would get in a more low key house then you are more than welcome to stay here. But we are situated in a quiet neighbourhood (minus some farm animals) and right near Butchart gardens, Butterfly gardens, and 2 minutes from the pat bay highway, also 20 minutes from the Ferries to Vancouver or the Gulf Islands, and 5 minutes from the Mill Bay Ferry that takes you across the saanich inlet.
Gorgeous nature can be found right outside, and some great hiking right here on the peninsula. only 40 minutes (or less) from downtown Victoria. With a bus route down the road that can take you downtown.

I'm just learning to read Hangul, and i'm able to recognize a tiny amount of Hirigana, I understand a fair amount of Spanish, but speaking it is foggy for me, it's been a few years.
I plan on going back to school to fully learn more of one of these languages (or Mandarin just to be random) so if you wanna teach me any bit of your language i'm all ears, i'll even try to help you out with my language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I know how difficult it is to find accommodations in a new city, or even if you are only in town a few days. hotels are so expensive. I also adore getting to know new people and hearing about their lives, whether they live in another corner of the globe from me, or the next city over.

Interests

conversation may never die at our house!
but if it does enjoy the silence, its okay to have some quiet here and there.
