About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to forget the meaning of the word "procrastination"

ABOUT ME

Hi everybody,
my name's Chiara and I'm Italian. I moved to Brussels two months ago, trying to follow my passion for international studies. I'm a 23 years old girl who sometimes thinks with the brain of an old lady. This doesn't mean I'm boring (think about the rocking grannies of some American movies!), but it means that I think a lot. I am a reliable, deep girl, who always tries to get the best lesson from every experience.

PHILOSOPHY

"An optimist is someone who figures that taking a step backward after a step forward is not a disaster, but more like a cha-cha."

"Vincent Van Gogh used to eat yellow paint because he thought it would get the happiness inside him. Many people thought he was mad and stupid for doing so because the paint was toxic, never mind that it was obvious that eating paint couldn’t possible have any direct correlation to one’s happiness, but I never saw that. If you were so unhappy that even the maddest ideas could possible work, like painting the walls of your internal organs yellow, then you are going to do it. It’s really no different than falling in love or taking drugs. There is a greater risk of getting your heart broken or overdosing, but people still do it everyday because there was always that chance it could make things better. Everyone has their yellow paint.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people all the time, and I really like taking care of them too. Since I was raised in a family where I had always been the little one, I always had somebody looking after me, so it is great news for me to have some couchsurfers to "take care of". This doesn't mean that I'll act like an anxious mother, always checking on how you're doing and tucking your blankets in, but I'll do my best to make my place as much comfortable as possible for you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a music lover. I play the violin since I was 6 and I'm a huge fan of rock music. I like to define myself as an old-fashioned girl, since my heart principally melts down for "old" stars, like David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen.
My favorite movie is V for Vendetta, but in general I appreciate the kind of movie that leaves you with a strange feeling in your bones, the one that makes you think even when the final credits disappear in the dark.
I love reading classics, and I'm particularly attracted by the Russian literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I shared an ice cream with a funny Barbary ape at Gibraltar.
