Where should I study music? I need to find my place

ABOUT ME

I'm still trying to find out who I am, or better who I want to be in my life. For the moment, all that I know is that travelling and meeting new people could be the good way to discover my true ambitions. I'm very open-minded, funny (my own way probably), and incredibly patient.
Singing has always been my greatest passion, since I was a child. I like music, in almost all of its forms, and musicians, because they have an artistic, creative, imaginative, free mind.
I think that every single human being has a talent, and should try hard to find out what it is.

I was born in Friuli, a beautiful -inexplicably non touristic - northeastern italian region bordered by Austria and Slovenia. I live in Udine but I studied in Trieste (I've just graduated from my bachelor's degree).

Last year I was so lucky I won a scholarship to study in Oklahoma for a semester (ok maybe Oklahoma's not the best state in the world, but I still feel lucky!).

Right now I'm trying to relax while I'm realizing what i wanna do next year. I think I will try to get into a music academy, still don't know where though!!

Unfortunately I still live with my family and we don't have any space for couchsurfers (or better, my parents do not really understand this philosophy), but as soon as I get my own little place I will certainly offer a couch/bed/corner !!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love singing jazz, soul, rhythm & blues in particular, but I listen to almost everything (just to mention some that I have on my iPod right now: Aretha, Tori Amos, the Beatles, Ella, Miles, Coltrane, Jill Scott, Regina Spektor, Chet Baker, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Esperanza Spalding, Stevie Wonder, Gretchen Parlato, Jamiroquai, Prince, Alicia Keys, the Police, Carole King, CCR, the Doors, Earth, Wind & Fire, Elio e le Storie Tese, Erykah Badu, Jason Mraz, Joss Stone, Sergio Cammariere, Norah Jones, some Italian underground bands).

I LOVE Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tolkien, Pullman's "His Dark Materials" and YES, I love J.K. Rowling. I'm a dreamer!
Miles Davis's autobiography has inspired me a lot recently.

I love Woody Allen. My favourites are Manhattan and Annie Hall. I'm a Star Wars fan too, and, even if I don't have a good relationship with blood scenes, I adore Tarantino. Uh, and the Coen Brothers are geniuses!
My thesis was about Truffaut - love his movies!
But there are tons of others that I like, of course

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With my choir I sang with Stevie Wonder in Verona (IT) and Locarno (Switzerland) in Summer 2010.

I've seen the Grand Canyon - awesome!

I had a roadtrip through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. Unforgettable.

I spent an August night in a mountain shelter with some friends, and watched for hours the most beautiful sky I've ever seen.

I love cooking (yes, I know, I'm Italian)
I can sing for you! If you play any instruments I'd be glad to jam :-)
I would like to improve my English.
I'm still working on my music theory skills.
I'd like to learn how to take good photographs.
