I just joined so I've couchsurfed twice with a friend. Hence no activity.

Beech trees are annoying because they are one of the only types of deciduous trees in the world that retains their dead leaves throughout the winter. It actually requires more energy for them to drop their leaves in the fall than it does to keep them and then lose them in the spring, right before getting new buds.
