About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I can from my bike.

ABOUT ME

For a while (17 years) I lived in Boston. Last fall I decided that was quite long enough and took off on a rambling open-ended road trip. I took a bath in Lake Michigan, swam fully clothed in the filthy Mississippi River (worth it), trimmed pounds upon pounds upon pounds of weed at a medical marijuana grow-op, learned to roll a joint, picked apples and snipped pear stems on a beautiful organic orchard, Occupied Vancouver, stood on stage five feet away from Tom Morello's sweating glorious face with a crowd of drunken occupiers, traveled 100 miles with three friendly Germans in a re purposed school bus, biked 540 miles along the Pacific coast, slept at 11 separate truck stops, couchsurfed with 8 amazing hosts, cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 40 strangers, crashed the crap out of my bike, and did many more things than I can remember now or should probably mention. It was amazing, life changing, and the best call I've ever made.

I live in Portland now. Hi Portland! I'm obviously pretty impulsive. Also friendly, funny, weird, majorly geeky.

PHILOSOPHY

Always talk to strangers.

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing." - Helen Keller

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far on this trip I have: taken a bath in Lake Michigan, swum in the Mississippi River, trimmed pounds upon pounds of weed at a medical marijuana grow-op, learned to roll a joint, picked apples and snipped pear stems on a beautiful organic orchard, Occupied Vancouver, stood on stage five feet away from Tom Morello's sweating glorious face with a crowd of drunken occupiers, traveled 100 miles with three friendly Germans in a re purposed school bus, biked 540 miles along the Pacific coast, slept at 11 separate truck stops, couchsurfed with 8 amazing hosts, cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 40 strangers, and oh geez so much more.
