ABOUT ME

I grew up in small town in Central Illinois. I have three older sisters who all live in the Chicago area, as do my parents currently. In high school my parents and I moved to Iowa, which is how I got to Iowa State University. I moved to Javea, Spain for a year through Rotary Youth Exchange Program when I was 16, which started my fascination for travel. I also did a college semester at SUNY Stony Brook, which is about an hour east of NYC on Long Island. This summer I'm studying in France, and have plans to study in Mexico and Argentina before I graduate in Spring 2009. I'm studying Marketing and Political Science, along with Spanish, French, and International Studies.

PHILOSOPHY

I have an open mind in everything that I do. In my life, I need to be an activist for social change and environmental protection. I feel like a better world is on its way. I live between being so laid back and easy going that I don't have a pulse, and so organized and driven that I can achieve anything I put my mind to-

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS and haven't been able to participate fully. I'd like to open my "home" up to any travellers, but while I'm in college, there aren't many people moving through my parts. I'd like to try CS this summer when I am travelling and hope to meet some interesting people.

I tend to like foreign and indpendent films (suprise!) but also get into some more popular movies like romantic comedies (no shame here) As for music, some favorites are Coldplay, Rufus Wainwright, and Counting Crows.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I can't really think of one amazing thing that I've seen or done that would appeal to the masses on CS. I believe that the most amazing things in life that we experience are the things that are personally special to our own beings-I've tutored a student for the past year and helped him grow and also watched the sunrise over tuscan vineyards after a night out in Florence-both experiences are priceless to who I am.
