Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Chiharu! I’m currently studying Electrical Engineering, with a focus on medical devices and energy systems. I’m passionate about innovation and how technology can improve lives, whether through cutting-edge medical equipment or sustainable energy solutions.
Traveling has always been a big part of my life. I’ve lived in California, New York, Japan, and Germany, and each place has shaped my perspective in unique ways. Recently, I’ve started solo traveling and have explored incredible destinations like Canada, Morocco, Turkey, and Iceland. These journeys have deepened my love for connecting with people and learning about new cultures.
I’m adventurous and love trying new things, from hiking in nature to tasting local foods. I also enjoy quieter moments, like meaningful conversations, learning about someone’s life, or exploring a new city through a local’s eyes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, travel isn’t just about visiting new places—it’s about forming genuine connections and understanding the world through the stories and lives of others. Couchsurfing offers a unique way to do just that, and I’m excited to meet locals who can share their culture, traditions, and personal experiences.
Having lived in different countries and started solo traveling, I know how impactful it is to meet kind and welcoming people along the way. I’m looking forward to learning about your city and sharing my own stories and perspectives in return.

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I can teach yoga, pilates, gymnastics, and some fun techniques for staying active. I’m also happy to share my knowledge of English and Japanese, whether you’re looking to practice or learn from scratch. In the kitchen, I can teach cooking and baking skills, from simple recipes to more creative dishes.
Learn:
I’m curious about everything! I’d love to learn new languages, local cooking styles, or anything unique to your culture. If you have a hobby or skill you’re passionate about, I’m eager to try it out.
Share:
I’m excited to share stories about my travels and life in the U.S., Japan, and Germany. I can also bring a sense of humor, great conversations, and a willingness to try anything you enjoy doing in your city!
What I Can Share with Hosts
