CURRENT MISSION

To just keep doing more things and meeting more people. I've picked up an interest in hiking and camping this year and so my current mission is to head to southern Germany, Austria, etc and get some hikes/camps there. And just overall keep doing things that I wouldn't usually see myself doing. The adrenaline feels amazing.

ABOUT ME

The basics; I'm a design student from Sydney, Australia but I'm currently studying abroad in Norway.
A bit more: I'm just starting out my travels this year. I've met some very interesting people in the past year who have really inspired me (a guy who's built a boat from scratch, and is currently sailing around the world - the stories he's got are phenomenal, a guy who's trekked the east and west coast of North America crossed the Darian Gap gone through to South America and now is completing a full circle around the world - and more, I could go on...) to pack my bags and start actually living. There are so many people in the world, with so many personalities and characteristics - and I really want to soak that in.

I don't want to be that guy at 50 who looks back and has had the same group of friends, in the same job, in the same city, and has never really stepped "outside".

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Last year I was really keen on spending my life with people around the world, helping them with their lives in return for a roof over my head - my idea of this was: living with a farmer in france and helping him/her out with their daily routine, then move on to perhaps a small shopkeeper in a small italian town and help him run errands, and just keep moving on from lifestyle to lifestyle.

And then I came across couchsurfing. I didn't realise there was actually something like this taking place and it got me really excited. It's the type of travel where you actually get as close to being a local without actually being one. It's a change in lifestyle for a few days. You never know the conversations you're going to have, or the opportunities that'll pop up.

I play guitar, I've been drawing since I can remember, and I enjoy my soccer (football), and I'm keen on giving new things a shot.

Music - To name a few: Glass Animals, Frank Ocean, Matt Corby, Flume, Hermitude, Bon Iver, Dope Lemon. Those are a few of the common ones but honestly I have a lot of different genres. Music is one of those things that helps me remember certain people and I try add music from their libraries to mine that I like and I've found so much music that I never thought I would have liked. I've started a weekly thing now as well where I'm trying a new genre every week (especially ones that I wouldn't think I'd particularly like) just to see what else is out there.
Movies - Benchwarmers, Shutter Island, The Batman Trilogy. Huge fan of comedy movies and movies like shawshank redemption, the prestige, the ones that really blow your mind.

Movies: I really haven't been watching a lot lately.

TV Shows: La Casa De Papel, Westworld, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones - pretty much the usuals.

Books: Reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius at the moment.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Hard to say really, but we experienced the northern lights for a week straight while staying up in the arctic circle at Tromsø and on the last night there was a lot of solar activity for around 2 minutes. But for those two minutes the ENTIRE sky was absolutely lit up with green and red waves and they were moving so fast. You just didn't know where to look. It was pure adrenaline and nothing like I've experienced before.

I began learning to cook this year as well (better late than never) and I'm really enjoying it. I've really enjoyed cooking with others. I think food is another great way to remember people by and I'll definitely love to learn more meals with people!
