About Me

I am an Ecologist working on amphibians in Arunachal Pradesh, India. I work with a professor at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Pune. My work centers on identifying species and their geographical distribution in Arunachal. I am also a musician and typically spend my free time rock climbing in pune, reading, cycling and playing my instruments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be able to host people who enjoy living life. To meet new people and experience the place not as a lonely traveler but using the eyes of my host.
To eat and learn to cook delicious food of the different cultures.

Interests

Sports: I spend my free time rock climbing, cycling, playing football and table tennis. I enjoy watching tennis and football, especially Djokovic, Wawrinka and Bouchard!
Walking long distances at night to find frogs and peering over my maps of the eastern Himalayas.
I enjoy photographing landscapes and frogs but I really want to get my hands on a film camera.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tchaikovsky is my new favorite after Jenacek. I also enjoy listening to Yes, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd as all time staple food.
Movies well I can't find the time to get through them these days but Chef and Miyazaki's films are my favorite.
Recently Ann Rand has occupied my reading hours while I immerse myself in reading history and natural history otherwise.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Let's see:
1. Trekked around Arunachal Pradesh looking for frogs and snakes.
2. Escaped elephants, bisons and landslides in the Himalayas.
3. Observed some beautiful rare cats in the firefly pulsed nights of Arunachal's forests.
4. Photographed a post glacial landscape at 4200m above sea level.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: percussion, natural history.
Learn: all that I can, especially cooking food.
