I'm a Canadian Master's student living in London with the occasional trip abroad (when possible!). I love meeting new people, learning new languages and about new cultures, the occasional friendly-spirited debate, and a good beer.

I study gender and social policy and work for a small women's rights organization in London - you can probably guess where my politics are at, but I love hearing other perspectives. I'm often travelling with my long-term partner, who is a designer - and probably a lot more interesting (and less nerdy) than me.

I don't believe that you've truly visited a place until you've seen it through the eyes of a local. I've benefited hugely from staying with local individuals and families in countries across the globe, and, when possible, am trying to do the same.

Music: alt-rock-type stuff (Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Yukon Blonde, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Tame Impala, The Strokes, The Shins, Tokyo Police Club, The National...) classic older stuff (The Beatles, Paul Simon), and a lot of cheesy 80s music
