I recently moved to Beijing from the UK, where I am working in air quality monitoring (a hot topic in this city with its share of pollution!) I am passionate about environmental issues, music, and keen to explore more of Asia during my new adventure in China.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted in the past, but lately I have been without a long-term place to host. Currently surfing, but hoping to host soon when more settled in Beijing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted couchsurfers at my previous home in Amsterdam - a number of Germans, and some French folks who were a lot of fun! I have also used Couchsurfing to meet people in new cities - I met a (now) friend from Istanbul in my hometown, Brighton.

I surfed during a hitch-hiking trip from Amsterdam to Krakow, during the one snowy week in Europe during winter 2014! Me and my friend were able to meet and stay with wonderful people along the way. Very positive experiences!

Interests

"If you enjoy food, you enjoy life" ! If you too enjoy food, I'm sure we will get along. :)

Art is a strong interest, both painting/drawing and absorbing other people's - also music.

I also DJ regularly in Beijing, usually a mix of disco / funk / house / whatever will make feet move.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cut hair - give some tips on DJing - do a good cartwheel (we can try together!) - and am always happy to exchange jokes. I'll tell one if you tell one. :)

Would love tips on how to juggle. This is a long-standing aspiration of mine!!

Also love to sing, if anyone would like to sing together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Always happy to cook a meal for any couchsurfing hosts, and bring drinks and merriment. If you would like help with any errands such as washing up, giving something a clean - happy to help out in the shared space!
