ABOUT ME

My favorite experiences revolve around food and nature - so not surprisingly, you'll usually find me in the kitchen or outdoors. I love good beer and wine, and want to learn more about both. Riding my bicycle makes me happy - if I could I'd bike everywhere (though summer in Tucson and scary drivers make that tough).

PHILOSOPHY

I think protecting wild nature and changing the way we eat (meaning rejecting the industrial food complex, not eating animals, and growing food that's healthy for people and the planet) are incredibly important and daunting tasks, and always try to do my part.

Interessen

Cooking, baking, and eating delicious vegan food; farmers markets and community-supported agriculture; photography and good design of all sorts; being outdoors - camping, hiking, bicycling, etc; mindful, environmentally-conscious living; and hopefully soon, making time to travel...

Music: bluegrass, folk, classic rock, blues and jazz (though I don't know much about it!)

Books: Abbey's Desert Solitaire and The Monkey Wrench Gang, Schlosser's Fast Food Nation, and Seuss's The Lorax

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Lived in a tent surrounded by wildflowers, glaciers, bears and whales while conducting fieldwork on seabirds in southeast Alaska.
