About Me

ABOUT US:
We live in Glendale, a neighboring suburb of LA. We're about 1 mile away from LA proper. We like to travel around the US seeing historical sites and meeting new people. I'm an avid runner and my wife is a non-profit fundraiser. We have two dogs (a Beagle and Dachshund) that we love. Both rescues.

Cristina's family is from Texas and I grew up in Pasadena, CA. We enjoy track and field, discovering new places and restaurants, watching movies, travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're looking to meet new people on our travels. Build our community, make some new friends. We enjoy learning about new cities from a local perspective. We love finding the local spot to enjoy coffee and reading the newspaper.

Cristina has couch surged before, but she lost her login information.

Music, Movies, and Books

CHOY:
I like Hawaiian music (I lived there for a few years). Cristina and I watch Disney movies. It's the only kind of movie we can agree on. Our recent favorites are Moana, Kubo and the Two Strings (which we HIGHLY recommend), and Sing.

CRISTINA:
My favorite movies include romantic comedies: When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail, and Begin Again. Some of my favorite books include: The Light of the World and Pillars of the Earth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

CHOY:
I ran a 24-hour race. I hope to one day run a 100-mile race.

CRISTINA:
I would probably say the most amazing thing I've done is work on a global health campaign that saved millions of lives. I raised millions of dollars to provide tetanus vaccinations to the developing world. It was a partnership program with UNICEF.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to provide some running tips! I'm also a pretty good cook and can teach you some traditional Filipino recipes. I also love to bake.

Cristina can teach you how to put together a fundraising strategy. She loves talking about social justice issues.
