About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to travel the americas in style

ABOUT ME

I'm a honest, kindly, music loving (but cannot play), food loving (can and love to cook), sometimes smart, sometimes funny, easy going Australian farm boy cum city boy.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to not over think things too much, but my personal philosophy towards life begins with relaxation, contemplation, living life without stress as much as possible and working hard if the moment requires it. This is not much of a philosophy, but more of a way to go about things obviously, but then unless you are a philosophy major in college i doubt there are many of us out there who can say they have a philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

currently by surfing couches through the americas, North, Central and South

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Generally great, still mostly fresh to the whole thing but i love the community and what it offers.

Interests

Cooking and eating fantastic food, trying new foods in strange lands, seeing/trekking in mountains, photography (very amateur), beaches that are beautiful and well kept (being and Aussie I have high standards, but am not too fussy).

At this point in time i've put my professional life as an Environmental Engineer on hold for about 1-2 years to see some of the world. Primarily this will involve South America where i hope to get a good grasp on Spanish language and south american culture. But the trip will also take in Central and North America, as well as China and Vietnam.

I also have a deep love of music and will miss very much the music festivals and gigs that will happen in Oz while i'm away, but i hope to see some gigs while I'm OS. Any music done well grabs me, but i guess my most listened to genres would be alternative/garage-punk rock, electronic (house, D&B, chill-wave), reggae and world music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Seeing Nick Cave lead Grinderman at the Meredith Music Festival, Victoria, Australia in December 2011. Mind blowing gig played to a packed amphitheatre and played with some much energy i think the entire crowd was either pregnant or delirious by the end of the set:)
- Trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary, Nepal. Big freakin mountains that tower above you and take your breath away (as will the lack of oxygen when your above 3000m!), a magical trek that was not long enough at 5 days.
