Strengthen the European Democracy at work and making Brussels my new home in private.
Restless but relaxed individual seeking wisdom, enough time with a boyfriend and the best ways to contribute to something meaningful: strengthening the democratic control by the people to make the world more social, in tune with the boundaries of the planet and therefore enjoyable. For most recent info, look me up on https://twitter.com/buergerbeck
It's anyway all socially constructed so let's have fun changing it the right way.

Continental federalism in comparision: the cases of the European Union and the Indian Union
- Dipl. Pol. Christian Beck - block seminar - for registration please e-mail
The course aims at a careful comparision of the political systems of India and the sui generis project of the EU. More than a comparision of the language-wise, legal and culturally homogenous United States of America, the two systems provide for an interesting research opportunity due to similar diversity in cultures, languages and political systems of the substates. Yet, while India is fast catching up Western economic development, the EU still tries to develop a legal framework narrowing down the capacity expectation gap concerning its global political role. The course draws from political science, sociological, legal and historical accounts.
