I love Bluegrass, R&B, and soul music. My favorite authors are V.S. Naipaul, Barbara Kingsolver, Tony Hillerman, and Ben Okri. I guess I like magic realism set in a common/ordinary setting. I'm not big on non-fiction at all. I rarely watch movies, not because I don't want to; I just don't get around to it.

I lived in western Kenya for two years.

I love to learn, teach and share. Currently, I'm into the history of bourbon and all that's related to it: catholics, tobacco, and slavery. I'm always interested in the history of the music of the Americas.
