Kate and I have been married for 25 years . We are the proud parents of Michael and Owen. Michael is works in the NYS Assembly. Owen died on August 10, 2017 in a boating accident just a couple weeks before his 18th birthday and the start of his freshman year of college. We were blessed to have had him as long as we did. We have been Warm Showers hosts for seven or eight years and have really enjoyed the experience of meeting interesting long distance cyclists. You can take a look at our hosting history here. (https://www.warmshowers.org/users/chris-and-kate) Since Owen's death, I have been finding some solace in travel, and have been on a couple of bicycle tours where I have been hosted by Warm Showers hosts. I've been hosted by one Couchsurfing host and had a great time. We have hosted a few Couchsurfers and they've been great. I am a trial lawyer employed by a firm called Nixon Peabody. Kate is a PhD and researcher at the University of Rochester medical center.

As with Warm Showers, we have enjoyed meeting people who are interesting and often times out on big adventures. We are big boosters of Rochester and would love to talk with anybody about things to do and things to see. It's a great little town with a lot going on.

We enjoyed watching our boys play sports, we enjoy spending time with each other, traveling, skiing, running, cycling, food, wine and beer. We have a great dog named Teddy.

I tend to watch comedies., documentaries, fiction and lighter fare. Anything dealing with sad stuff I pass on. At least for now. Kate loves romcoms so we watch those. I love music and spotify is my go-to for old and new stuff.

I have ridden my bicycle coast-to-coast in the USA, around much of the coast in England, down the Icefield Highway and up the Natchez Trace, all unsupported. Just for starters, I've trekked in the Karakoram and in the Solu-Khumbu, ridden the rails through Rajasthan, and the length of Thailand, and all over New Zealand. Along with Kate, I have raised two awesome young men and have my older son to continue to watch grow and develop. Being a good dad and husband is far more difficult, important and rewarding to me than any of the big adventures I've been on.
