About Me

Dear friends I haven't met yet,

My name is Christophe and my home is in Brussels, Belgium.
2 weeks after I was borned, I joined my family back in Italy where I spent 9 consecutive years of my childhood before coming back to Belgium.

I finished primary school in Brussels and did my high school years in a boarding school South of Belgium (close to Namur/Namen).
Then, I moved to Cambridge (England) to attend a foundation program in order to be able to study in the UK.
Following my year at Cambridge, I enrolled with the Middlesex University of London for a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies. However, I studied that degree from Brussels and not from London.
I graduated in June 2014 and I am now working within the hospitality industry in Normandy before starting my masters of science in Luxury management at the Bocconi University in Milan.

I am a bit shy at first but once I feel comfortable with the person I am with, I am open and a trustworthy confident.

My father has always travelled the world for his job and my mother, my two sisters and I got the opportunity to travel to see him when he couldn't come back to us. As a result, I believe to be very open-minded and easy-going.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I would like to bring my travels to another level. So far, I've always travelled with family or friends which led to missed opportunities to meet people and get to know the smoky downtown bar where the music is best.
Couchsurfin will enable me to travel alone but be confident I'll have a place to sleep (comfort doesn't matter) and someone I can rely on.

It is the only solution that doesn't make you spend a penny and with which you actually leave richer of friendships and memories.

Interests

I love to travel and to discover new cultures.
I enjoy doing sports. I did plenty of swimming, tennis, rugby, both indoor and outdoor football as well as some squash. I always look forward to discover new sports.

I am passionate about new technology, cars and music.
New technologies have made me a bit of a compulsive buyer but as I grew up I learned to think before I buy.
I love old cars and new cars, especially the sporty ones. The sound of an engine roaring is melody to my ears and I hope I'll end up working for some super/hyper/mega-car company in the future.
I can listen to music all day. It makes me travel, cool down, it wakes me up, it motivates me. It's a bit of my life companion.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite bands/Artists are: Muse, The Killers, 30 Seconds to Mars, Simon & Garfunkel, Kanye West, Brandon Flowers to name a few.

My favourite movies are: Goodwill hunting, Warriors, the most recent Batman series, the Bourne movies (Favourite actors: Matt Damon, Tom Hardy to name only two).

I don't really enjoy reading that much but I'm all ears for good books to read. When I read, I usually read books from entrepreneurs or magazines such as The Harvard Business Review etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn't rate what I am saying as amazing but let's say it's not ordinary.
With 15 friends, we gathered money for charity and sport projects.

The first project we did was to go to Creta to help orphans and help bring a smile on their face (2 weeks). We then did a 2 weeks trekking around the whole island sleeping where we could (beaches, garages...), cooking our own food and relying as little as possible on the locals.

The second project we did was to go to Romania to help rebuild and paint a primary school so that the kids could go back to learning. We then did the whole Transylvania by minibus. We all got intoxicated by the water and some of us ended up in the hospital but it's part of the experience and it makes a good story out of all of it.
