ABOUT ME

My partner Denise and I live on a 250 acre farm in northeastern Oklahoma. Although we have grown a small lavender crop here in the past, ours isn't a production farm. It's just a very nice place with fields, forests, and a clear creek. We run a little business called Lost City Knits, which features hand dyed yarns and original lace designs.

I'm pretty content taking care of our farm, but love to travel. I find that the lower to the ground I get traveling, the better the experience. I hope to do a long bicycle tour someday, but have yet to make that happen.

Denise is an accomplished lace knitter and designer. For several years we ran a small lavender farm on our place, and built a small business around that, but the plants aren't as plentiful as they once were, and our business Lost City Knits has taken off. We're often traveling to art shows and fiber festivals.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've always been fascinated with cars, mostly weird European brands, and driving is one of my favorite activities. When I was younger of course, I drove faster than I probably should've. There was a moment about 10 years ago that I mark as the moment I grew up. Denise and I had been working to start our old lavender field, and had to get back to Tulsa one evening. I was making the turn from our county road onto the highway, a turn I'd sometimes take quickly. But Denise, who had worked hard all weekend, was asleep in the passenger's seat, and our old dog, Kip, was asleep in the backseat. "These two trust me," I thought, as I gently pulled onto the highway. It was a moment of understanding my relationship to others.

In other news, yes, I'm contemplative, but no, I'm not that sappy.
