ABOUT ME

This profile is under Chris's name, though it's used by both Chris and Shiva. We're two Americans that met in graduate school and love to travel and learn about other cultures. We currently live in the Boston area.
Personally, we're down to earth and enjoy the stuff that most people enjoy--good company, stories, food, exploring new places, nature, etc.
We both have city planning backgrounds and love urban design and architecture, but we also appreciate rural places.
We try to be good ambassadors of our home country and to show people that not all Americans are gun toting lunatics. We've dedicated our professional lives to trying to make the world more sustainable, fair, and prosperous. We are both vegetarian.

PHILOSOPHY

We're politically liberal but not naive, and spiritual but not religious. We try to be humble about the limits of our knowledge. We enjoy discussions about ideas and think that dialogue is a lot more productive than debate. We also embrace tolerance and cross-cultural understanding but think that tolerance can be taken too far when it means tolerating actions or beliefs that violate the rights of others.
