Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surfed once during my holidays to Norway, which was great! Other than that I love to open my house to guests and share conversations and food. There is simply no replacement for what you can learn from just talking to people from other places.

The first few years since creating my account I wasn't able to host because of my roommates, but now I live on my own so I can!. I try to join CS events whenever I can.

Interests

I love to cook. Besides that I like to play (board) games with friends, do sports (I cycle, run and like to go to the gym) or just randomly be out in nature.

About once every 2-3 weeks I go to the shooting range.
It may not seem like it, but it's a great way to relax :).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music, mostly rock though.

My current favorite writers are Cory Doctorow and Philip Pulman (His Dark Materials).

You're pretty much out of luck if you want to talk about movies with me :P, but I do often watch series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking, (almost) every car is amazing.
Hiking: Norwegian mountains for over a week and only seeing two people at shouting distance; Sweden, sleeping in my hammock for 3 weeks.
Celebrating new years under the Northern Lights... magical!
Went to Vegas, and didn't gamble (that counts, right?).

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied Mechanical Engineering, and I recently finished a master in Computer Security.

I like to cook, hopefully we can teach each other a thing or two.
I can tell you what I learnt about barefoot running, and why I love it so much.

In winter, we can go ice skating (even though I'm not very good, I enjoy doing it).
