I am a passionate traveller, love the outdoors, love exploring, hiking and trekking, discovering and adventure, on foot, by bycicle, motorbike or 4WD or whatever.

I stopped working at 50 to give in to those passions.

When at home, sports is top of mind, and I like literature, games, good food with good company, going out, listening and talking philosophy... not too much politics, and no (bad) news, please! Enjoy life!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

After travelling around the world a couple of times, backpacking, camp(ervann)ing, hostelling, hoteling and motelling, couchsurfing should be interesting, no? It will be a new experience for me!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Well, I guess not turning my back during a surprise courtesy visit of a group of lions while camping in Savuti, Botswana was a good idea... and a bit amazing too, maybe;
Sleeping under the stars in the desert (Namib, Atacama, Kalahari, Sahara...)
Swimming with whale sharks, sea lions and manta rays;
Climbing any mountain (but especially Huayna Potosi and Pequeño Alpamayo);
Sailing the Galapagos;
Trekking to remote villages in Nepal, Thailand and Madagascar...

Don't judge a man by the answers he gives, but rather by the questions he asks.
When asked, I usually hapilly share what I know, and if possible, what I have.
I can only teach what I know, but I haven't met a person yet I can not learn from.
