ABOUT ME

I am finally satisfying my wanderlust and have no deadlines or plans, but just take one day at a time and living in the moment. I'm traveling in my Nissan Xterra SUV. I left Austin, Texas, a place I lived for almost 38 years, on March 19, 2014, with the intention of traveling for the rest of my life. I sold almost all my material possessions, my businesses and my hard assets and have become a minimalist. Most of what I own now sits in 5 ft. X 7 ft. storage unit in Austin, Texas, a city I still consider my home base. I've visited 44 states and 7 countries so far in my life.

I love freedom, hiking, backpacking, camping, learning about wild edibles, conversation, philosophy, poker, cooking, learning about local cuisines, learning something new everyday, adventure, meeting new people, and becoming more self aware.

I spent 34 years working in the wine, beer and spirits business on the retail side and owned two small stores that sold these products among other things as well. Right now my partner and I are selling sauces and other products made from a wild pepper called the chiltepin under the brand name Rabbit In the Moon. You can find them at MotherOfAllPeppers.com. I'm always thinking about finding new products and business ideas. I'm still selling my stuff on Ebay, as I'd eventually like to own only what I can carry on my person in the way of material possessions.

Another goal I have is to learn Spanish and travel extensively in Mexico and Latin America.

I'm very easy going, an INTP on the Myers - Briggs type indicator, and don't require much in the way of accommodations when I couch surf. I can sleep in my SUV, so all I need is a safe place to park, which could be on the street in front of your residence or in your driveway. A place to camp in my tent would also be greatly appreciated as well. I get along with people of all ages and would just enjoy a vegan meal that I prepared for us and conversation about a wide variety of subjects, including travel adventures of course.

I love travel and want to see the world and make new friendships along the way. People that travel I've found have a world view about life, are respectful of the individual, love freedom, and have a passion about life. They want to make a difference in the world around them and respect other people's preferences on how they live their lives. I especially love seeing and learning about other cultures and their perspectives and cuisines. I love being in the natural world and using all my senses while enjoying my time outdoors. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friendships and seeing what I can learn from them and maybe what they can learn from me as well. I'm passionate about life and freedom. I love sharing ideas with others and think outside the box. The idea of life is to become more self aware, learn from others, teach, and coexist without violence or coercion.

Want to learn Spanish, camp and hike. I love the outdoors and just being in nature. While I'm in your area I'd love to visit the local farmers markets. Love learning about wild edible plants and mushrooms. Philosophically I'm a vegan voluntaryist. Love synchronicity and serendipity.

Selling almost everything and traveling. One of my favorite hikes was crawling through some slot canyons in southern Utah. For me I find something amazing everyday.
