About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live more sutainably

ABOUT ME

Carole and I are travelling in Australia. A few years ago we sold our house in NZ and started travelling. We travel by doing exchanges with people, mostly gardening and outdoor work for a place to stay and food. We also housesit and caretake. We're currently travelling in SW Western Australia with a view to settling and developing some longer term contacts.

This CS'ing profile was originally Chris' (I joined when I went back to the UK on my own a couple of years ago), but now we're sharing it.

PHILOSOPHY

Live as sustainably as possible. Trust my own judgement. If something works, use it, even if I don't understand how it works.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meet people, be inspired and, maybe, be inspiring.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Chris CS'd in the UK and we've been travelling and living with other people for about 5 years.

Interests

Gardening, especially woodland gardening and orchards. How our brains work and how the way we think affects the way our life is. I'm especially fascinated by the "psychology of sustainability", if such a thing exists. I also love push bikes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I (Chris) like thrillers and historical fiction. I was lucky enough to spend some time with an expert on feminist SF recently, so I'm getting into reading SF again. Music: anything that's leftfield. Movies: I don't go anymore, but used to love Art House movies, especially French ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently: sunrise at Pt. Impossible Torquay, VIC...and the journey by car across the Nullarbor plain. Wow.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gardening skills, especially pruning and grafting of fruit trees. Chris is especially interested in thinking skills, for example, I'm trained in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programing) and know a bit about how to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom
