About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to travel, meet people, make memories

PHILOSOPHY

I think Kirkegaard said something about life and how its not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced.
that sounds about right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't currently own a couch, but I will be making it out to events in my area. I'm doing a little traveling this winter, and hope some people are kind enough to take me in. i can swap good homecooking for couch space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tagged along on some CS events in Prague New Years 2009 and was amazed with what a great time it was. Since then I have surfed in Luxembourg, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Den Haag, Brugges and Paris. I have met some incredible people through CS and also convinced others to join. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet likeminded, engaging and generous people who like to have a good time!

Interests

I'm pretty much interested in everything. Above all, I love the domestic arts. I'm a chef by trade and am incredibly passionate about cooking and eating. I'm always looking for a friend to join in on a culinary adventure, whether its a new restaurant or recipe testing. I'm an avid knitter, and when I can, I sew.
I read a lot, whatever I can get my hands on and lots of culinary bios. I'm a bit of a news junkie, and try to stay tuned in to what's going on at home and abroad (which is also sort of home). My favourite book is The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Kundera---and I try to live my life by making choices and letting changes happen.
I wouldn't describe myself as "arty" per se, but I love museuming as well as going to the opera. I am a huge fan of Mozart, and have been known to sit for entire days knitting socks and listening to pirated copies of The Marriage of Figaro.
Above all I enjoy meeting people from other places who can teach me about their countries and culture.
