About Me

I will be heading to Murcia de España this October to teach English as a Second Language in Fuente Álamo de Murcia. Looking to travel around the country and perhaps Europe at large.

I was born and raised in the rust belt region of Northwest Indiana,.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be heading to Murcia de España this October to teach English as a Second Language in Fuente Álamo de Murcia. Looking to travel around the country and perhaps Europe at large. I feel this medium is the best device for that.

Interests

Activism. Was president of my school's Social Justice Club for one semester; events included hosting of Palestinian rights activists, campaigning against police brutality in Hammond, as well as being part of a student delegation to Ferguson, Missouri. I also participated in the campaign for Senator Bernie Sanders, but overall my politics-ethics are much more libertarian-left leaning and I stay out of political campaigning these days.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film geek, especially in regards to David Lynch, David Cronenberg, and Lars Von Tier. Latin American and Balkan films also intrigue me.

Love Nueva Cancion; Victor Jara is one of my idols. Big into punk, hip hop, rap, and shoegaze. Also an avid reader (can't really list "favorites" on here on any of these mediums).

Me gusta Eskorbuto, no sé si los otros couchsurfers lo saben, pero esta banda es uno de las razones que quiero aprender el idioma castellano y las temas políticas de España.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

\_(ツ)_/¯

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn other languages, and would love to room with someone who could help improve my Spanish and perhaps give me a grasp of the Catalan language. I am also looking to perhaps learn a bit of French.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I feel when it comes to hosting people from the United States, most people from outside our country only get to know a certain part of it, mainly West and East coast culture. I like teaching others about the Midwest and the cultures of the rust belt.

I would also love to help with whoever wants to learn the English language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Chile, China, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
