About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Walking, whether it be through the streets of Christchurch or the alps, I love to get some fresh air and bust out of the groove. No great plans to travel at the moment.
ABOUT ME
Studying in Christchurch, living in and a part of a great community, involved in the life of the church, working a bit on the side.
PHILOSOPHY
I really enjoy hearing people's stories, I think it's a real privilege to have people share parts of their life with you - best education.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have loved experiencing all sorts of couch springs and floors and am keen to share my own!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A school friend and I couchsurfed at a few places in the UK, we had awesome times in Southampton, Exeter, Bristol, Bath, Swansea, Manchester and Cambridge. I was surprised at how accommodating and generous our hosts were.. just really salt of the earth people.
Interests
I really enjoy being taught and discussing history, I find it incredible [especially in Europe] how tangible history is, this is one of the things that gets me reved up. I enjoy connecting with people and finding out the things that drive/motivate them.
I love walking, it might be alone or with others, passive or challenging.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy most films, nothing too cheesy or scary, British comedy is my gold. Music, I must admit I'm a pretty big U2 fan, I enjoy listening to Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Pinkfloyd, Queen and of course some homegrown stuff.. six60. My most recent significant purchase has been a Kindle, all literature written before 1926 is free so go figure and I really enjoy reading autobiographies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My whole time in Bosnia has left me awestruck. Within eight hours of deciding to visit Bosnia I left the International Bus Terminal in Vienna for Mostar. I was the only English speaker on the bus for 12hours but it was a lot of fun trying to communicate with people and sharing fresh fruit. In Mostar I didn't know what I was walking into but everything clicked together perfectly, I ended up joining a 13hour tour that blew my lights out, not only was the landscape unbelievable but the guide was incredibly engaging, he started out as a comical/lovable guy but became serious throughout the day and ended up sharing his testimony of the war in Yugoslavia.. it was such a privilege to be a part of the tour. From Mostar I travelled to Sarajevo and things clicked again perfectly, I managed to get a retired Australian couple to stay in the hostel with me and we had a great evening out. I can't believe how I managed to have such a safe and fun trip but more importantly I can't believe the awesome, awesome people I met, people who give flavour to the earth.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to travel, it's inevitable that you're going to meet people and exchange fun and interesting stories but few stories of traveler's are shallow and there's often so much to learn from each other, this is such a great way of teaching. I have just finished school and don't think I have a lot to teach but for those interested I'm more than happy to talk about life in New Zealand, my contrast of experiences in Germany/Austria, Bosnia and Budapest and my beliefs.
Countries I’ve Visited
