About Me

CURRENT MISSION
The Stunning Adventure of Parenthood

ABOUT ME

Joyful owner of daughter, travelling equipment, collection of books and a guitar. Graceful servant of a certain wife and an equally certain cat.

Also, Navigare necesse est.. probobly. Never' been on the boat/ship for a longer time though. I will. Trekking, chatting, trying to play guitar at lest a bit better. Will discuss The Grave Matters of Life and Death. Or Pancakes.

Also also, sometimes I have to force myself to travel - but I've never regretted it, as of yet.

PHILOSOPHY

Beauty, love, good, truth, bubbles.
The order of the values mentioned can be rather situation-dependent, though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently, I have a semi-open house for friends.
Since it's 6-8 people, a daughter and a cat on a quite regular basis, I pause on hosting until ~Autumn 2016

PhD on (bio)visions of the future, the posthuman, science and science fiction . In short: what do people fear, what do they hope for? What values do they attach to their bodies, their 'human nature' and the technology? Why do they see the future of the human race the way they do?

Music, Movies, and Books

too many.. but:
Cortazar, 12 monkeys, Mum, Avro Part, Pat Metheny, Joseph Conrad, M. Sandel, Blade Runner, Lhasa de Sela, Kieslowski's 'ten commandments' and 'three colours' series, Hardirian's Memoirs by Marguerite Yourcenar, Digit-all-love, U.Eco's 'Baudolino', Tom Tykwer's 'Heaven', W.Gibson's 'Neuromancer' and a bit more..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the mountains.
We were reaching our destination, it was dark and snowy - in a cold yet gittery way.
we went uphill and there it was: despite the hour we could see the smoke from the chimney, we were drawn to the candlelight coming from inside. Suddenly, we felt the scent of freshly baked bread.
It was, and still is after more than ten years, a powerful and 'complete' experience.
