I'm 27, from the UK and I worked as a graphic designer in London for five years before realising that sitting behind a screen all day wasn't making me happy... so I quit my job, sold most of my stuff and now I'm here! I'm travelling around New Zealand trying to learn more about what I really want to do with my life – sustainability, ecology, just alternative ways of living and being more connected with the world around me.

I really enjoy finding out about other people's cultures/ways of thinking/opinions. Healthy, respectful debate is how we learn. Anyone who thinks they've stopped learning is doing it wrong!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I didn't just want to do the same old backpacker routes and only meet other travellers. I came here to try and integrate myself into Kiwi life, and I think couchsurfing is such a good way to meet people I might not normally come across and learn about their lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I threw myself out of a plane within a week of being in this country despite being so terrified of heights and flying that I often have panic attacks when I'm in a plane. I think it might have cured me a bit!
