Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This year I´m about to make my dream come true getting for the first time of my life to New York City! I´m travelling alone, so I´d like to meet locals. My interest is not just to see "lady liberty" and other famous tourist attractions, but also to get to know the places where the locals go. So I´m hoping, my hosts can give me good hints which places are worth visiting and other tips for having a good time as a foreign visitor.
To make some music with my hosts would be great, but of course not a "must":)
Saving money is also an issue, but not the most important one;)

Interests

I´m a big fan of music, especially jazz. As I wrote above, i play clarinet and the saxophone. With my clarinet, I play much klezmer music, latin, jazz, classic... I also like sports, especially table tennis ("ping-pong"), and play it for my own in a team. Further I´m interested in arts, politics etc.
