About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see different parts of Europe while I'm here!

ABOUT ME

I'm a bit weird, but probably one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I cherish deeply the friends and family that surround me day to day, but also like to spend a lot of time doing things by myself. Some people may think this makes me a loner, but I think it just makes me...independent. But don't get me wrong, I love meeting new people and have an unparalleled quality of empathy, which makes me a really good listener. Simply just chatting over coffee, tea or drinks is something I actually really enjoy.

PHILOSOPHY

"Nobody in life get's exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, AMAZING things will happen..."

-Conan O'Brien

Interests

Having a desk job can drain my soul sometimes, so being active is pretty important to me. I especially love bicycling, playing basketball and taking my hyper little dog out for walks. Music is also something that makes me tick. As with everyone else is, I love listening to music, but more than that I love singing and dancing, which is hilarious because I'm terrible at both. I tend to sing and dance aloud whenever I can, but somehow no one ever hears or sees this, haha. And of course I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't have somewhat of an interest in travel and meeting new people, having new experiences. I actually travel quite a bit for work, but I see it's becoming increasingly more important to me to just travel for leisure, especially at my current age and state of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Older trance from artists like Armin Van Buuren, ATB, The Cynic Project etc...along with other types of electronic music (VNV nation in particular), random hip-hop artists like Kanye West and Childish Gambino, and rock music rounds out the rest - dredg, jimmy eat world, case in theory, stars, mae, dashboard confessional

Movies: Favorite film ever would probably be The Shawshank redemption, but Into the Wild comes pretty close. I also enjoy the newer wave of vulgar language comedies (Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin) because the language may be more obscene, but this is how people actually talk! (at least in my group of friends). I also oddly like romantic comedies and love stories (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Serendipity). And I can never ever leave out Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New Years Eve in the Philippines: My family owns a small apartment building in Cebu. My brother and I went to the roof to see if we could see some local fireworks. When we got to the top we saw that almost every other neighboring house/building around us had people on the roof as well. They were all preparing to launch their own fireworks...our proximity to all of this scared me to death at first, but once they started going off in random, unplanned sequences, I couldn't take my eyes off the sky. Night became day with explosions of color from all different kinds of pyrophorics. No one was talking but it was one of the loudest environments I've ever been in; and I still remember the cooled ash from the explosions slowly falling and hitting my face...

Driving through the German countryside: A typical business trip. I've been in Germany a few times before but only for flight layovers, but this time I finally get a job in Freudenstadt. I flew into Stuttgart and spend 75 minutes driving through some of the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. It was like a movie. Things looked peaceful and untouched. Every now and then I'd see a small house or a farm. It was solitude, yet I knew there had to be so much history around me...and everything was unbelievably green. The sun was setting and kissing the tops of the hills, my windows were down and no other vehicles were on this one this one lane highway. I had the radio on playing some local German music station which I didn't understand, but I didn't care; I couldn't stop smiling. I was submerged in a foreign place and surrounded by its beauty. The experience may sound mundane, but that's exactly what makes it mine!
